as a 16 year old female aritist from a small town in illinois givin the middle name of a major amazing singer Sade,monique always new she wanted to be big in the business i been singing since i can remember alot of people say they been singing since they could talk but you can't sing when your just a baby cuz you dont't know how but monique she been singing since she can rememer my mom would take pictures of me and my friend performing i nthe living room she would get the guitar and i would get the mic when i was real young like 5 i got my first singing machine and i love it i always loved to sing i been writting since i was 9 and when i was 9 we moved i found new friends and we started a girl group following the foot steps with destinys child we sang say my name i got tired of singing songs from other artist so i wrote material for the group i had my lines all down altho i wasn't the lead singer i really didn't get to show off the talent i really had i had so many hater then i guess people felt i had no talent at all my family is all about music my bro my sis my mom even my cousins are starting there own record label monique gots talent in her family i got a cousin that can draw i got cousins that can sing rap very talented my bro is gonna start his own record label i really think my brother is serious about things he wants to work on a song so i think he will have a album out at the age of 16 monique is already working on a solo album its very personal i write things about my life i have like a big box filled with music i counted my music when i was 14 and it came out to be 400-500 songs i written more ever since so i think i got like thousands now i take all my emotions and pain and everything out in my music i hardly write in my diary my music is my diary my famliy always listens to music i think out of anyone tho im more music addicted its crazy lol my mom had us kids going at a young age listening to great music like michel and janet and alot other we have old albums everywhere monique, began getting serious with music i would record music at the age of 13 i have accepellas on a tape in my room listening to christina milian aalyah and plenty other i really looked up to christina milian when she frst came out i wanted to be like her i got older and i just look up to her but i wanna bring somthing different still aalyah i would always learn her dance moves when her songs came on you would see me and i no al lthe steps the 16 year old singer say: i really see myself wanting to be just like tupac cuz hes real and he talks about true stuff and feelings and make a difference i look up too him i wanna be a female version of tupac even if im not big i wanna be known as a artist who makes a difference and for people to relate to my music all the music i write about is either about me my life stuff that goes down other poeple what im thinkin feelings of just fun songs the singer say:::the most hard think to write about for me is my life wat i went thru my whole life with my parents and me it was hurtfull and stressful and i can't even think about it without crying i had a ruff journey in life and thats where i came up with the song life journey but its just gonna sit in my closet for a while i never really let people look at all my music cuz i felt it wasn't perfect enough but when people look at my writings there shocked that i came up with somthing so beautiful i let my sis look at some of my writings at 16 the age i am now and she told me wow this is like poetry music my music is so real you would be amazed i would die without a paper and pen i can't go a day without writting something thats one thing i don't is coming song titles or song lyrics from someone else i see alot of people doing that i would probablt discuss stuff in my music you never heard anyone else discuss in theres before the post personalest songs off my new album is scars , weakness ,who i am there touching songs who i am is a song i written by myself and it uses the same beat of christina milians no daddy i felt like i loved that beat and shes my fav singer and i wanted to bring something personal of mine to that same beat and it came out great i love it you can look forward to moniques album sometime in 2006 i been working hard on the wrtting proccess and it takes me a long time i want to put my all into this with monique being a underground artist tryna get herself out there its tuff i perform everywhere i get the chance and it feel great being on stage i love it working with producers like robert and phresh ,kidd, lavett very talented robert is my sister soon to be husband and he will be producing my 2nd album hopefully monique laughs: i get into all kinds of music hip hop r&b rap i love all kinds i like to sing alot of r&b and some hiphop im doing all me not only does monique sing but she acts dances plays piano been writting since she was 9 i will soon to be working on a magizine with my sister the singer tells us shes gonna handle the older woman section and im gonna do the teen area its gonna be fun im gonna be writing a book later on in the future about my life and me and some of my poetry im gonna be reading scripts for roles singer tells us: i wrote a song about my dad its called loving lies no one nos about it but just me hopefully one day i will have the strength to show it and sing it and let my dad hear it with so many talents and love for the arts we are sure monique can deliver us more now and days i don't no where music is coming too i wanna bring them real music the 16 year old singer tells us:im just another young artist tryna get into the indiustry but if i don't make it there i won't stop trying to be the performer i was made to be i wanna be known as a wonderful inspiring performer who reminds people of a female version of tupac..monique is gonna bring so much more to the industry..
